Relocation
I have recently relocated to Virginia from Pennsylvania. It's been about 2 months since the move and I'm still getting used to the differences. In Pennsylvania, I lived in a small town in the suburbs of Philadelphia named Royersford. In Virginia, I'm living in Vienna, which is a suburb of Washington, DC. The one item that immediately got my attention was the intense traffic jams in this area. It is really a very congested area that is getting no better. Philadelphia had a lot of traffic but it is nothing compared to that of Washington, DC. Another difference is the cost of living. Things in the DC area have really gotten out of control. Rents and mortgages are outrageous. I saw a newspaper article earlier this year in the Philadelphia Inquirer that discussed the increase of home prices in the Philadelphia region. I remember thinking how out of control the situation was in the area. Since moving to Vienna, I have come to believe that things were quite normal in Philadelphia. On that note, it seems like a good point to stop. Moving to this area has reminded of the old saying, "We're not in Kansas anymore..."
